Lil Dame
Bio
Nigerian-American rapper Lil Dame integrates the trendy sounds of modern-day hip-hop with
his own unique, youthful, moody energy. Grabbing influences from left-of-center hip-hop to
Bling-Era rap music, the rising artist presents a rap style and presence that thrives in versatility.
Whether he’s spitting laidback, melodic rhymes or a charismatic 16-bar, the conscious rapper
creatively executes with his sharp, signature annunciation. Gaining gradual attention for his
standout debut project The Limelight in the Fall of 2019 and following EPs Head over Hills and
The Prelude in 2020, Lil Dame’s infectious hooks and vulnerable wordplay has major potential
mainstream appeal.
A Queens, NY native, Lil Dame had diversified sonic inspirations early. Impacted by the
incredibly culturally-diverse surrounding communities in Queens and his parents, who are
Nigerian immigrants, the rapper’s innate appeal for international music and detailed
instrumentation are the foundation of his music taste, creation, and exploration. Shifting his
interest towards the larger-than-life imagery and party-centric music of mid-2000’s hip-hop and
shortly after, crossover Afrobeats and narrative-heavy rap music of the mid-2010s when he
swiftly moved to Nigeria as a teenager, Lil Dame’s musical well-roundedness equips him with an
artistic sensibility not many rappers can boast. Since moving to Buffalo, NY in 2014 for college,
the 24- year old rapper has established himself as an emerging talent in Buffalo’s hip-hop scene
with a unique rap style that can compete with his contemporaries.
